In 1959-60 wolfgangFRIES was able to realise a project he had always wanted to do: he designed the stained-glass window for the Church of St Nikolaus and St Ulrich in the Mögeldorf area of Nuremberg.
This window was designed as a retable. In front of it a simple table would serve as the altar, affording the congregation a full view of its resplendent message during the church sermon.
